C.H.E. Transitions to New Leadership

COOL Hockey Events founder Jamie Cooke will be passing the leadership baton on to JJ Deviney in June of this year. Over the past 7 years COOL Hockey Events has seen growth in all of its events and the playing divisions it supports and markets. Along with running its own events COOL Hockey under Cooke’s leadership was selected in 2005 by the International Street & Ball Hockey Federation to run the first Woman’s Ball Hockey World Cup. Along with the successes of COOL Hockey Cooke also founded USA Ball Hockey, which he utilized to organize and managed as the General Manager the first Women’s Ball Hockey National team that competed in the 2007 Women’s World Championships. USA Ball Hockey also supported and managed teams that have competed in the Turks & Cacaos Islands Invitational, the Outdoor World Cup, the Vegas Sin City and the Tamp Sunshine Shootout tournaments. As a player Cooke started playing DEK hockey in the Tinicum Township league in 1977 playing his first tournament in 1978, he plans to play his last tourney in December of this year and then move on to coaching and being involved in his daughter and sons’ lives.

JJ Deviney has been a partner at COOL Hockey Events since 2007 and has brought years of roller and ball hockey experience as a player, coach, referee and event coordinator. JJ is the current coach of the 2009 Women’s National team that will be competing for gold in the 2009 Women’s World Championships scheduled for this summer in Prague, Czech Republic.

Cooke will be missed as a leader in our sport but the future holds promise with the formation of ASHI and the numerous leaders, to include JJ, that will take the sport to a new level.
